Sage Line 50 provides small-medium
sized businesses with a choice of progressively more comprehensive solutions and
single user or network versions. The Financial Controller level links with
other business software around your organisation.
By eliminating repetitive routines,
simplifying difficult tasks and speeding up procedures, Sage Line 50 makes
complex accounting tasks straightforward. You can complete in hours what used
to take days.
Its integrated approach means you do not have
to keep entering the same data to perform different functions. For example,
Sage Line 50 uses the information on an order to create an invoice
automatically.
Choose from three increasingly comprehensive products in the Sage Line 50 range - Accountant, Accountant Plus and Financial Controller - to suit the size and complexity of your business.
There are many advances in the software and I have focused on the following main areas: Information management and Business control. I was particularly impressed with the ease reports could be output to Excel and thus distributed to non Sage users and the ability to access client and supplier documents (letters, quotes, spreadsheets etc.) from the client or supplier record.
The new Excel Integrated Reporting provides access to Line 50 accounts data directly and securely from Microsoft Excel, so key members of your company can analyse and report on essential business information without using Line 50 themselves
Sage Line 50 2008 now allows you to associate documents with a whole range of data entries - like client or supplier accounts, products or individual transactions. So you can keep copies of letters, quotes, spreadsheets or any other document directly where you need to access the information. This is done by placing a link to the document in the client or supplier memo area on their record. The document may be opened by clicking on the link.
For small projects, a job costing module is often overkill! Project Costing has now been built-in to V11. Many businesses need to monitor projects with resources, costs and profits allocated to specific projects for specific clients. Normal accounting procedures aren't particularly helpful in controlling these project focused finances. The new Project Costing capability allows businesses to allocate and analyse costs and keep financial controls for each project.
There are many other new features such as:- Improved Credit Control, improved Sales & Purchase order processing, Event Logging, Crash Checking, Smart Columns and Smart Totals.
Sage launched a new Financial Forecasting package which will integrate to Sage Line 50. (This is not part of Line 50, it is an addition package!) Sage Financial Forecasting allows you to create forecasts for you business that can be either as detailed or as high level as you need. It allows you to explore scenarios such as "What if costs increased by 10% or can I increase my advertising spend?" By constantly updating your forecasts with current data, Sage Financial Forecasting allows you to reforecast easily, using actual results, while still leaving your original forecast intact.
